ABOUT THE SENSEI
Hello English learners. My Name is Kurt A. Schramer. I was born in California in the United States. I moved to Illinois State (near Chicago) when I was 1 year old. I then grew up in a small town, enjoying science fiction movies like Star Wars and Blade Runner, and studied drumming while playing a lot of music.
I then moved to Washington State near Seattle, where I went to college and studied Japanese and made many Japanese friends. I then had a homestay trip to Hachioji for one month and experienced Japan for the first time. Then a year later I got a job in Osaka, and moved there from my home in Washington State. I taught English at a Juku for three years before learning about the internet and getting a job as a web designer in Tokyo. I did web design in Tokyo for a few more years before moving to Chigasaki and teaching at a English Conversation School for a year.
Now I teach English privately and do web design work. I enjoy travelling, watching movies, playing music, going to museums, and riding my mountain bike around the Shonan area.
